Diana recently obtained her Master of Laws degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
Before coming to Canada, she earned her J.D. and B.A. degrees from the University of the Philippines, Diliman campus, graduating Cum Laude from both programs. She also received the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence in law school and ranked number 5 among its top graduates. Diana was admitted to the practice of law in the Philippines in 2012. She has worked as a litigation lawyer at a law firm in the country’s financial center, Makati City, representing clients in civil, criminal, and administrative cases before trial and appellate courts and administrative agencies. She has also served as a government attorney for the Department of Finance tasked to investigate and pursue corruption cases against its officers and employees charged with illegally accumulating wealth disproportionate to their financial capacity.
No matter how busy her schedule gets, Diana strives to create space for things that help her appreciate life. Teaching herself to play the piano lets her enjoy learning. Capturing enduring portraits of children, families, and pets keeps her connected. Portraying nature through watercolour and creating something extraordinary out of wood help her find joy in simple things.
