On this year’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we encourage everyone to reflect on the words Every Child Matters. We honour the Indigenous children who never returned home from residential schools, and the survivors, families, and communities, who continue to carry the burden of intergenerational trauma.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The report’s 94 Calls to Action remain as important today, reminding us that reconciliation is not just one day, but a constant journey of learning, listening and action.
Members of our team came together to reflect on what reconciliation means for us as a firm and attended the Indigenous Legacy Gathering hosted by the Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre at Nathan Phillips Square. The event provided meaningful opportunities to engage with Indigenous culture through traditional ceremonies, performances, and teachings from Knowledge Keepers.
We remain committed to continuing this important work of understanding and reconciliation within our firm and the broader community.
