Congratulations to Fogler, Rubinoff Partner Justin Jakubiak for being selected as a Finalist in Lexpert’s Rising Stars – Leading Lawyers Under 40 competition.
The Rising Stars competition showcases Canadian lawyers that have an outstanding track record of success with complex transactions, contributed to their communities and profession and demonstrated leadership within their law departments. Finalists were also selected for being team players, who demonstrated business acumen and adaptability to change.
Fogler Rubinoff Partners, Ian Katchin and Martin Kaplan, were successful before the Ontario Superior Court with respect to defeating an Easement By Prescription and related relief claims on behalf of a development client.
Nina Perfetto and Albert Engel, successfully acted for Coco Paving Inc. in its defence before the Ontario Provincial Offences Court involving an Environmental Protection Act charge laid by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) in response to a gas line that was struck by a CPI employee.
This was the first case in which an Ontario trial court has had the opportunity to consider a defendant’s evidence of due diligence in a MOECC prosecution resulting from a gas line strike.
