Fogler Rubinoff is pleased to announce that Kathryn Balter has been recognized by the Ontario Bar Association as the 2026 recipient of the Hoffstein Book Prize.

The OBA Hoffstein Book Prize is awarded to members of the Ontario Bar Association who have demonstrated leadership in the trusts and estates bar through knowledge, experience, skill, commitment, passion and strength of character, and who, in addition to demonstrating these qualities, actively participate in continuing legal education and/or academic writing. The award will be presented on June 9, 2026.

Kathryn’s practice is focused on helping clients achieve their estate-planning goals by providing advice on wills, trusts, the transfer of assets, powers of attorney, and estate administration.

She works in partnership with her clients to help them navigate complex matters and to protect and plan for the transfer of their personal assets.

Kathryn is active in the estates and trusts bar and is currently the Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Executive for Trusts and Estates law. Kathryn is also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
