Labour and Employment Associate

Fogler, Rubinoff LLP is looking to hire a junior associate (1-2 years post-call) to their growing labour and employment team.  This a tremendous opportunity which will allow the successful candidate to have carriage of their own employee side files while simultaneously being able to work along side with the firm’s experienced practitioners on larger management-side files.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Able to take carriage of plaintiff/employee side employment files (drafting demand letters, negotiating settlements, wrongful dismissal claims, human rights applications);
  • Able to take carriage of small claims and simplified procedure litigation matters;
  • Proficient in WSIB-related matters;
  • Providing support to senior associates and partners on larger wrongful dismissal actions, grievance arbitrations, and human rights applications;
  • Drafting HR policies and providing HR training;
  • Labour experience is an asset but not required; and
  • Providing general support to the labour and employment group as needed.
