Real Estate Law Clerk Job Description:

Our firm has an immediate opening for a Real Estate Law Clerk. This position will work within our busy Real Estate Department, specifically supporting in the area of CHIP Reverse Mortgage. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 5 years real estate experience, both residential and commercial. The successful candidate will be organized, discreet, and detail oriented. This position will require someone to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review file and escalate concerns to senior law clerk or lawyer;
  • Use Teraview to complete searches, document preparation and registration;
  • Identify title problems and appropriate corrective measures required to clear title; and
  • Other duties as required.


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk, both residential and commercial;
  • Completion of law clerk program recognized by the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario;
  • A Member in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario;
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the power of sale process in Ontario;
  • Superior administrative, organizational and time management skills;
  • Superior computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Outlook,
  • Extensive knowledge of Teraview (including searching, document preparation and registration);
  • Superior written and oral communication skills;
  • Superior research and problem solving skills;
  • Detail oriented, hardworking and self-motivated;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from lawyer and possesses a team player attitude; and
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
