Max is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He is developing a general commercial litigation practice.

Max has experience in contract, real estate, debtor and creditor, shareholder, partnership, insolvency, competition, privacy and regulatory disputes. His demonstrated success represents his strong legal research and development of written and oral advocacy skills. He is also focused on developing his involvement in the Ontario legal community, sitting on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and volunteering with Pro Bono Ontario.

Max completed his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and obtained his J.D. from the University of Toronto. During his time at the University of Toronto, Max was recognized for his oral advocacy, winning best oralist in the internal U of T Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada. Max also worked with the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights Prisoners’ Rights working group to develop educational materials for incarcerated Canadians. Prior to commencing his legal practice, Max developed diversified work experience, working in the banking sector, sales, the service industry and as a sailing instructor. His perspective and experience help him connect with clients by understanding the business implications that accompany their legal issues.

Outside of law, Max enjoys playing and watching sports and is a staunch Toronto sports fan. He also loves to travel, spending 4-months solo backpacking through 11 countries in Europe, 4 months in London, England where he bolstered his legal education through a semester of LLM courses, and six weeks in New Zealand and Australia after articling. He also loves trying new restaurants in Toronto, but you can usually catch him with a Harbord Bakery cheese bun in hand.
