Ninetta is an Associate in our commercial real estate group, and her practice focuses on commercial lending and real estate transactions across Canada.
She works on mortgage-secured financing for institutional lenders and borrowers, as well as commercial property acquisitions and dispositions involving retail, office, industrial, warehouse, and multi-unit residential property types in Ontario and several other Canadian provinces. Ninetta is involved in all stages of financing and transactional matters and brings a practical, business-minded approach to efficient and effective deal execution.
Ninetta has been part of our firm since 2006 and brings strong transactional experience to the commercial real estate group. Outside of her practice, Ninetta enjoys reading, running, Pilates, and spending time with family and friends.
Mohiminol is an associate in our Condominium Law Group. His practice is focused on providing litigation and solicitor services to condominium clients.
Mohiminol assists and advises condominium corporations with general governance matters as well as various contractual, administrative and compliance issues as they arise. He has represented clients in litigation matters as well, and has appeared on behalf of clients at the Ontario Superior Court, Small Claims Court and Condominium Authority Tribunal.
Prior to joining Foglers, Mohiminol practiced condominium law at a full-service law firm in downtown Toronto.
Mohiminol completed his LL.M., J.D. and LL.L. degrees from the University of Ottawa, and his training in both Common Law and Civil Law set the foundation for his ability to analyze legal problems through multiple lenses. He aims to provide clients practical and cost-effective solutions.
During law school, Mohiminol represented the University of Ottawa at the Foreign Direct Investment Moot where his team ranked first overall.
In his spare time, Mo enjoys playing soccer, discovering new hiking trails, and learning about South Asian history. Mo is bilingual and practices law in English and French. He is also fluent in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
Kate brings two decades of negotiating experience to help her clients advance their rights through customized, creative solutions. She is a professional, client-centred lawyer with passion and grit.
Kate is a member of the Indigenous Practice Department, whose practice focuses on governance, consultation and land issues. She is the department’s lead on Additions to Reserve. Recently, Kate represented a number of First Nations at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission tribunal. She also assists with transmission line negotiations, capacity funding agreements and industry proponent negotiations. She has a keen interest in the duty to consult and UNDRIP.
Prior to law, Kate had an award-winning real estate practice in the GTA, while her first career was in education. During law school, Kate focused on Indigenous legal issues, including dispute resolutions. She sat on the Indigenous education committee, working closely with faculty and students to advance Indigenous knowledge and rights. She did a placement at a boutique Indigenous firm, partook in the Kwaskimhon moot and placed second at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition. Kate was also the recipient of the Spring Forward graduating award for demonstrating grit, perseverance and growth.
Kate is an active lacrosse mom, coffee lover and outdoorswoman. She is truly honoured to represent her clients and is humbled to be given space in this area.
Emily is an Associate in the firm’s business law group. She is developing a diverse corporate commercial practice.
Emily is a recent graduate of Western University’s Faculty of Law. She also earned her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph.
During her studies, Emily completed co-op work experiences which exposed her to a variety of industries such as sport, tourism, and tech. This led to her career in business law and an interest in working with small businesses and start-ups.
At Western Law, Emily was highly involved with her law school community as a research assistant, a caseworker with the Western Intellectual Property and Innovation Legal Clinic, a Western Law Student Ambassador, Chair of the Merchandise Committee, a member of the Gender and the Law Association, and an Orientation Week leader. She also took pride in acting as a mentor to other law students.
In her free time, Emily enjoys exploring the city, being outdoors and at the lake with her family, going to concerts, and watching hockey.
Carlos is an Associate in our Commercial Real Estate practice group.
During his time at law school, Carlos volunteered at West Toronto Community Legal Services, a non-profit community legal services clinic serving low-income people in Toronto’s West End.
Before going to law school, Carlos studied at Ivey Business School at Western University, where he graduated with distinction from the Honours Business Administration program. During his time at Western, Carlos contributed to the London community through S.W.A.M., an organization dedicated to teaching children with disabilities how to swim, and London Track 3, an organization dedicated to teaching people with disabilities to ski and snowboard.
In his free time, Carlos enjoys competing in triathlons, cooking, and reading.
Rachel is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. She is developing a general commercial litigation practice.
Rachel received her Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. At law school, she partook in various community-based initiatives including Osgoode’s Peer Support Centre , Osgoode’s Mental Health Committee and the Osgoode Hall Chapter of Animal Justice. Rachel’s involvement in these initiatives instilled within her a passion for advocacy that she seeks to implement in her legal practice. Rachel was also a staff writer for Obiter Dicta: Osgoode’s student-run newspaper.
Rachel is honoured to have received the Mary L. MacGregor Memorial Award from Osgoode Hall. The Award is granted annually to a J.D. student who achieves a high academic standing, shows an interest in Estate law, and is active member of the Osgoode community.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys long-distance running and hiking. She hopes to achieve a Boston qualifying time in the upcoming years. When she is not lacing up her running shoes, Rachel enjoys reading psychological thrillers alongside a fresh cup of coffee in hand.
Prior to law school, Rachel earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour with distinction from McMaster University.
Ashley is an Associate in Fogler Rubinoff’s Wills and Estates practice group. Her practice is centered on estate planning and administration, trust administration and incapacity planning.
She provides advice and support to her clients that is tailored to their needs and circumstances. This includes planning in the context of blended families, existing or future corporate interests, beneficiaries or trustees who reside outside of Canada, and ensuring suitable provision for a disabled heir.
Prior to joining Fogler’s, Ashley was an associate at a boutique estates litigation firm where she gained valuable experience on estates and trust issues, such as will challenges, dependent’s support claims, and contested account passings. As a result, Ashley has a keen insight into the legal issues that can impact her clients’ estate, trusts and incapacity planning. She also attributes her commitment to practical, client-focused solutions as a result of her prior role as Crown Counsel at the Ministry of the Attorney General – Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. She advised on a broad range of legal issues spanning civil, family, healthcare and real estate, which affect guardians and attorneys in the course of their duties. Ashley believes that her experience in both private practice and the Ministry of the Attorney General allows her to best craft and implement an estate plan that meets her clients’ individual situation, goals and expectations.
Max is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He is developing a general commercial litigation practice.
Max has experience in contract, real estate, debtor and creditor, shareholder, partnership, insolvency, competition, privacy and regulatory disputes. His demonstrated success represents his strong legal research and development of written and oral advocacy skills. He is also focused on developing his involvement in the Ontario legal community, sitting on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and volunteering with Pro Bono Ontario.
Max completed his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and obtained his J.D. from the University of Toronto. During his time at the University of Toronto, Max was recognized for his oral advocacy, winning best oralist in the internal U of T Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada. Max also worked with the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights Prisoners’ Rights working group to develop educational materials for incarcerated Canadians. Prior to commencing his legal practice, Max developed diversified work experience, working in the banking sector, sales, the service industry and as a sailing instructor. His perspective and experience help him connect with clients by understanding the business implications that accompany their legal issues.
Outside of law, Max enjoys playing and watching sports and is a staunch Toronto sports fan. He also loves to travel, spending 4-months solo backpacking through 11 countries in Europe, 4 months in London, England where he bolstered his legal education through a semester of LLM courses, and six weeks in New Zealand and Australia after articling. He also loves trying new restaurants in Toronto, but you can usually catch him with a Harbord Bakery cheese bun in hand.
Shannon is a lawyer with a passion for advocacy. She brings a creative, analytical mind and an empathetic approach to each of her files.
Shannon has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario. Her budding practice has touched on a wide array of cases, including complex commercial disputes, solicitor negligence claims, and bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in drama from Queen’s University (2018) and her Juris Doctor from Western University (2023), before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2024. At Western Law, Shannon chaired the Advocacy Committee and received the Justice McLachlan award and Dickson Award for Oral Excellency as the top-scoring advocate in the Gale Cup federal moot competition.
Outside of work, Shannon is a patron of the arts, a lover of podcasts, and a matron to her small army of house-plants.
Shane is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He is developing a general commercial litigation practice.
Shane summered and articled with the firm. He recently graduated from Queens University’s Faculty of Law, where he received the Goodmans LLP Scholarship in Legal Skills and the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Prize in Public Law.
During law school, Shane was heavily involved with the Prison Law Clinic, where he provided pro bono legal services to inmates in the Kingston area and honed his advocacy skills. Shane also worked as a research assistant to his Constitutional and Public Law professor. One of his notable projects as a research assistant was contributing to a paper entitled What is Purpose Interpretation?, which explored judicial methodologies and the Supreme Court’s reliance on purposive interpretation.
Prior to law school, Shane earned an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Psychology with distinction from the University of Toronto. He has participated in several moots, including the Canada Cup and Osgoode Cup, and has won multiple Model United Nations simulations. Shane also has a diverse employment history ranging from roles in the financial sector to public health volunteering. In his spare time, Shane enjoys swimming, listening to history podcasts, and reading mystery novels.
